Day 5 in Ngee Ann Polytechnic

day 5 was a really emotional day for everyone. this is because it was our last day in campus and most of us were unwilling to end the module at all. today we were all considered to be rather busy. all of us were rushing to finish our final touches on the presentation, our project, our group blogs, our personal blogs, our report and our very own blogshops. we were all running against time. finally, we manage to finish it on time and be ready for our presentations. in general, i think that my group's presentation was rather well done. i hope that all of us will fair well. this experience in ngee ann poly had really been a fun and hard to come by opportunity. i would definitely remember my 5 days in ngee ann and not waste all that i had learnt!

Day 4 at Ngee Ann Poly

just before everything had started, we had a debrief of visit to City Plaza Wholesale Centre and the debrief of visit to Remote Imaging and Sensing Centre. right after that we began learning on eBusiness Industry Trends such as information on new social media and marketing. we then continued our our group project among ourselves during the given time. we did our finish up touches on the project and finally managed to complete the project. :) right after lunch, we made our way to Singtel and learnt the ways that Singtel manages its business with companies in singapore, mostly serving the government. we were brought into a contact centre(call centre) where we were able to see how the customer service officers manage to meet the needs of its customers.

Day 3 at Ngee Ann Poly

today was all about studying and understanding databases. we learnt how to prepare to really start a business of our own. we studied about what are the necessary steps and procedures that needed to be done before we could officially start a business. i think that to a certain extent, starting a business could be quite troublesome.
during the later part of the day we proceeded to NUS. we visited the Centre of Imaging and Sensing. over there, we were taught about the various satellites that were present at outer space and the names of different kinds of satellites that are present around the world. i did not know that satellites had been given specific names like us humans. i remembered one called 'Fengyun' that was made in China.
the lesson that took place in NUS was what i thought, educational. right after the lesson, we went on to see real satellites that were present in NUS. we had a chance to see how the satellite was able to move in any possible direction. it was able to move to any angle, which was what i thought, quite cool. i think that the most interesting part of this educational field trip was to be able to see real present satellites in action in the campus. :)

Day 2 at Ngee Ann Poly

today's lesson was on 'protecting people and information'. we were informed about the threats and safeguard that are present in the business industry. we definitely had a clearer idea on eBusiness through this session. right after a brief introduction on what we would be learning today, we then started on our workshop.
during this period, we were choosing our own blog content, maximising our blog exposure, tracking our views and income, understanding the eCommerce bio-sphere and the respective dangers on the web. everything was way more interesting than i expected it to be. it just felt good to be able to gain more knowledge on eBusiness. =)
during the later part of the day, we went to City Plaza Wholesale Plaza. the building was quite runned-down and the shops there were all pretty messy. though there are quite a lot of shops there, i would say 95% out of 100% of the clothes were just so not suitable for the girls of our age. some were either too old for us or just way too sexy for us. hence at the shopping centre, we did not manage to find anything we really liked or wanted.
i think that what these shop owners or sellers should really do is to find out the problems regarding to what lead to a small group of shoppers. i think they should reflect upon it and make the necessary changes and who knows, the next time the number of shoppers might have increased!

AEM Project at Ngee Ann Poly

On the first day at the campus, we were greeted by a whole lot of attention. everyone was staring at us due to our BRIGHT colour. Was that suppose to be a good thing or bad? Anyway, we were brought into a computer room where the whole course thingy started. so far, everything is still really fun. we have a lecturer that is quite fun to be with and funny at the same time. when the AEM thing started, we had a brief introduction to what is eBusiness and the different types of Revenue generating online activities. after that was a short teabreak where we grab a few snacks to munch on. Mmmm....
just right after the teabreak, we had a few facilitators that brought us around the campus. it was super fun. after that experience, we had a closer idea of how a poly life felt like. following that we had lunch at MAKAN PLACE. Yummy... but it was quite embarrassing when we were waiting for seats. we had to stand and wait for them to finish their lunch with our uniforms.
right after lunch was workshop time! we learnt how to create a personal blog, how to create a content blog, how to create a Adsense sccount and choosing the right content. we had a teabreak again and then we started on Electronic Commerce like the strategies for the new economy. that's all for today! will keep you updated again! bye bye!!!
